wow

So, somehow between last September and now I totally forgot about this thing. Some crazy little part of me thinks I should try again at this whole thing, dunno why XD Maybe its the tiny part of me thats narcissistic enough to think that others actually care what I have to say. Yea, that sounds about right XD

Hmmm.... where to start...

First and foremost, I'm still goin strong with the art. I discovered that I don't dislike oil paints nearly as much I initially thought I would. Actually, painting in general isn't that bad, it just really isn't my cup of tea.

Only partially finished, haven't gotten around to getting a picture of the finished piece XD
Is mostly the same though, so meh
done in oils

First attempt at clouds in watercolors
just finished up my first watercolor class, once again not as bad as I was expecting XD Was saddened to find out that I have to take watercolor II though, I was under the impression that it wouldn't be required since I'm doing a sculpture emphasis.

Oh, yeah, theres that. I've decided that I really do prefer 3D over 2D. Though I didn't enjoy sculpture III as much as I would have hoped (working with wood, a nifty ability for a hobo), I have discovered something else about myself. I want to be a baker and chocolatier. I want to have my own bakery, design and create cakes, sculpt in chocolate (and maybe ice too). Its a big goal, and one that I'll have to push myself to meet. But, at least now I have something for aim for! Even if it means possibly living under a bridge if I fail XD

For now, another photo dump.
My own fist, done in sculpture I

random pose from figure drawing, done in ink washes

Bust from sculpture II, we had to poke holes in it to make sure it didn't 'splode in the kiln XD
Holes are gone now, am just too lazy to update the picture XD

Portion of my final watercolor I piece, is of one of my dogs that had to be put to sleep :(
RIP Boomer
Silver ring made for my sister in my jewelry class, still needs to  be cleaned up a bit
Simple band, first project in jewelry I
we cast them using the sand casting method
"Oklahoma Sky," another watercolor piece
A copper bowl I raised from a sheet of metal
sooo.... yeah. Obviously, a lot more has happened, but I think I'll save some of it for later ;3

*sighs*

So I've been really bad about updating....

Same 'ol story, been super busy being artsy... painting, looking at naked people, all that fun stuffs. We've done 2 alla primas ("full" paintings done in one setting; 2 hours time limit for us) so far in oil painting class, so haven't had to spend too much time in the studio outside of class.

Is the second alla prima, I like it better than the first XD
Have been constantly tired for the last week or so, but for some reason haven't been able to sleep for crap XP really kinda need to figure out why XP Any suggestions?

On a side note, I totally passed my belt test for karate ;D I sucked it up at times (some worse than others), but I am now officially a green belt XD That means I know barely anything more than everyone else, but is a start I guess ^_^

I guess thats all for now, will try to remember to update more frequently XD

Not dead.....

...yet, anywho
HAVE been really busy though, if I'm not in class, I'm painting or sleeping. I got the sculpture and skeletons done on time, they both came out pretty well I think ^_^. My oil painting has been giving me some grief though, but I think I'm winning. For now at least.

very much a work in progress, I've only "finished" the book cover, the 3 flowers, and the bottle on the right....

We started working of facial features in sculpture class this week. I have to sculpt a nose, mouth, and an eye. I got the nose done, and tomorrow I'll tackle the mouth ;D
I'll try to update more often, been getting lazy about it XD

Long time, no post

Alright, so I guess its about time I get off my lazy butt and update this a bit
Sooo, how bout I start off with a photo dump? Just some random LA pics; celebrity stars, pretty skies, that kind of thing ^_^
preeetty sun rise ^_^
DOWANT
Who is Andrew Lloyd Webber? *facepalm*
I'm a dork, I know
totally took this without lookin XD *severe arachnophobia*
couldn't catch him posing, and didn't feel like getting hit by a car to get closer XP
*dies*
some totally adorable lolitas ^_^

So, yeah
totally not all the pictures I took, but enough XD

Been busy since I got back, having to catch up on all my studio class work. Luckily, I've been able to make good time, and am almost totally caught up. I have a sculpture in plaster that I have almost done (just needs to be sand papered and then textured), a skeleton set for figure drawing, and a preliminary painting for oil. Oil painting, so far, isn't too bad, but my whole lacking the painting skills is proving to be a challenge.
The skeletons... have a bit more done than shown here... just need to add muscles on tracing paper to lay over the bones... will look pretty darn cool when I'm done ;D
Like I said, is plaster... has to show upwards movement by using transitional shapes... I think it works, but I tend to be a bit biased XD
So, yeah....
Thats about all for now, been staying preeetty busy, but happy ^_^

Another day, another post

I am so worn out
like, I don't even want to move right now XD

Basically, yesterday we went out and did the whole touristy shopping thing again. I ended up picking up a new top, a dress, some earrings, some chopsticks, annnd a new pocket knife ^_^ We also went to a wax museum and a guiness world records museum thing. They were ok, but not really worth the ~$10 we payed to go into each XP Finally, we ended the day yesterday by going over to Santa Monica beach. We waded in the water for a minute, and then went and invaded the pier. Never woulda guessed it would get so cold here at night! I literally could see my breath!

Today wasn't quite so touristy. We ended up going down to chinatown and eating some AMAZING chinese food. Lets just say I'll never be able to enjoy the crappy buffets around my college again XD After eating, we went around and did some more shopping in chinatown. I ended up getting a really cool fan for my apartment for only $10! Finally, we dropped one of the faux-family off at her concert (the main reason we even went to LA).

Me thinks I'll head off to bed soon, has been a long 3 days XD
sorry bout the lack of pictures, am feeling just a bit more than lazy right now XD

Morning of Day 2- 48 hours remain

Ok, so yesterday was our first official day in LA. Technically, we were here around midnight, but we didn't find a motel till around 3am XD
We decided to by typical tourists and go shopping along Hollywood, trying to balance staring at the ground to read the stars while looking in shops to see if they had anything interesting. We figured out pretty quickly that 90% of the shops either sold touristy t-shirts, fetish shoes, or bongs XD

Not sure if that was on purpose or not, either way its pretty funny XD

Just as we get finished shopping I get a call from someone who opted to stay behind at the motel (in-room jacuzzi=drowning in awesome sauce). One of the dogs we brought along had gone missing. Pretty much the cutest dog in the world; she's a teacup chihuahua, and also the baby of the family. It was safe to say that EVERYONE was freaking out, especially as we got lost trying to get back to the hotel to find her. We ran around the neighborhood for about 2 hours, in search parties of 2, looking for her, asking locals if they had seen her, etc. A lot of them were actually pretty nice, going so far as to help look with us. Finally, she was found. Let's just say she will never be left at the motel again, her owner will see to that XD

See how cute she is!? XD

Plans for today aren't quite finalized, we might be shopping in china town, might find a mall to invade, or we might go over to the ocean. I guess we'll figure it out as we go along ^_^

While I can...

So, very last minute, I decided to go on a road trip of sorts with my faux-family. We're headed, as of 10pm last night, to LA for a K-Pop concert. Originally, I had planned to skip this little adventure so I can focus on my classes that just started. However, I decided abandon my ideas of excellence, and tag along on what is turning out to be an.... interesting.... trip.

In reality, its only just started, so I'll keep updating with more of our little adventures later.
